The island of Kos is located in the centre of the Dodecanese group, where sailors can enjoy sailing, historical adventures, nightlife, serenity, and the tranquillity of numerous isolated coves, or all of the above. All of the exotic, distinctive Dodecanese islands are worth visiting and sailing around. Because seeing all of the wonders of the Dodecanese is time-consuming, our first and foremost recommendation is to reserve enough time.

The Dodecanese Northern Islands

The islands of Kalymnos, Leros, and Patmos, all of which are north of Kos, are the destinations of many sailing itineraries. You may take as much time as you want to explore them, or we can provide suggestions if you are stuck for ideas.

Dodecanese Islands in Southern Greece

The Dodecanese islands are filled with history and life, and Kos is just one of them! A sailing route from Kos to Rhodes will usually include the island of Symi, which is renowned for its colourful architecture and picturesque harbour, and Nysiros, where an active volcano is still active! Those with an open itinerary may also charter a boat in Rhodes and return to Rhodes on a one-way charter.

The Meltemi annual wind that blows from the North West in the summer is the prevailing wind in the region. During autumn and spring, the wind usually blows from the South East at force 2-4. The Dodecanese Islands offer numerous bays and safe anchorages if the wind is severe.
